What is a mortise lock?
With a mortise lock, we mill the lock completely into the side of your door. This keeps the lock invisible and you can choose the door hardware that perfectly matches your living style. The complete system consists of security fittings and the corresponding locking mechanism such as strike plates or strike boxes.
Different versions available
For rooms that do not need to be secured, we install simple mortise locks without cylinders. This variant is mainly used for interior doors in your home.
If you do need security, we opt for mortise locks with an integrated cylinder. You then lock your door with a key or knob. In addition, we can also use mortise locks as additional security or multi-point locking.

From €44.95 you can already have a high-quality mortise lock installed. The final price varies based on the brand, security class (e.g., SKG**), and the specific type of lock you choose.
Special designs such as fire-resistant or keyed alike mortise locks have a higher price due to their additional functionalities. You will always receive a clear quote in advance, so that you know exactly what the costs are.
Which mortise lock suits your situation?
With over a hundred different mortise locks on the market, the right choice depends on the use, location and your specific security needs.
Popular mortise lock variants:
Safety mortise lock (SKG2/SKG3): Perfect for exterior doors when you want maximum burglar resistance.
Cylinder mortise lock: Works with a separate profile cylinder and is widely used at main entrances.
Passage lock: Ideal for interior doors that only need to close, without key operation.
Bathroom/toilet lock: Specially designed for sanitary areas, with practical interior locking.
Panic lock: Essential in escape routes and public buildings for unobstructed passage in emergency situations.
We only work with high-quality mortise locks that carry the SKG quality mark. This quality mark is awarded by the Foundation for Quality Facade Construction and complies with the Police Quality Mark Safe Living. The star rating shows you exactly how much delay the lock offers against break-in attempts.
The right sizes are crucial
Every door is different, which is why you need the exact measurements. We always check the center-to-center distance (between lock and handle), the backset (usually 50 or 60mm) and if necessary the PC size (distance between handle and cylinder, often 55 or 72mm).
Professional installation
Fitting a mortise lock requires precision work, especially when milling the hole. A small mistake can affect the reliability of your security.
